YMT Platform — Quick Tips

🎮 Game Modes

Mode	Players	How it works
Standard	1 or 2	3 outs. Both players can answer each question within 10 seconds. Wrong = lose an out. Game ends when a player is out.
Timed	1	3-minute clock. No per-question timer. No outs. Race to get as many correct as possible before time runs out.
Lightning	2	Speed round! First to answer locks it in. 3 outs. Every 20 correct answers = +1 bonus out.
Face-Off	2	Turn-based. 5 questions per turn, then switch. Wrong answer = immediate switch. Every 10 correct = +1 bonus out.
Unlimited	1	No outs, no time limit. Play through all questions in a category. Great for learning — wrong answers don't end the game.
Unlimited Dual	2	Two-player speed game with no outs. First to answer gets/loses points. Keeps going until all questions are used.

📈 Scoring

Basic Scoring

Correct answer	+5 points
Wrong answer	-5 points (except Unlimited mode: no penalty)
Timeout	No penalty, moves to next question
Score floor	Score can never drop below 0

Outs

Most modes start you with 3 outs
Wrong answers cost 1 out (Standard, Lightning, Face-Off)
Lightning: every 20 correct = +1 out
Face-Off: every 10 correct = +1 out
Unlimited & Timed modes have no outs

Category Completion

Basic completion — answer every question in a category correctly at least once (across multiple games)
Super completion — answer every question correctly in a single game without getting it wrong
Each completion earns a gold star on your dashboard

How to get perks

New players start with: 2 Pause, 1 Hint, 1 Bonus, 1 Shield
Earn perk spins from achievements and playtime milestones (30 min, 1h, 2h, 4h, 8h)

⭐ Levels & XP

XP System (NEW!)

Every game earns XP based on your performance. XP unlocks 20 levels with Hebrew/Torah-themed titles (Beginner → Talmid → Chacham → ... → Malach). Your XP badge and progress bar appear on your dashboard.

Base: 10 XP per game
Correct answers: +3 XP each
Accuracy bonus: Up to +10 XP for 80%+ accuracy
Win bonus: +15 XP
Streak bonus: +1 XP per 5 correct in a row

Stat-Based Levels

Your stat-based level is determined by all five criteria — you must meet every requirement to advance. A "win" counts as scoring 50+ in single player, or winning by 50+ in two-player.

Maximize your score

Use Bonus or Double Bonus right before a streak for massive points
Save your Shield for when you're unsure — it blocks the next wrong answer completely
Slo Mo is great for hard categories — it gives you double the thinking time
Use Hint to eliminate wrong choices when you're stuck

Earn more perks

Try every game mode at least once — that's 6 easy "Curious Learner" spins
Go for streaks! 10 in a row is very doable and earns a spin
Work toward category completion — the "Well-versed" achievement gives 3 spins each time
Play regularly — playtime milestones at 30 min, 1h, 2h, 4h, and 8h all earn spins

Level up faster

Levels require all five criteria to be met — check your dashboard to see what you're missing
Don't just grind one mode — play two-player games to build your win count
Finish categories to unlock higher level requirements

Two-player strategy

In Lightning, speed matters — but a wrong answer costs an out, so don't rush blindly
In Face-Off, a wrong answer switches turns immediately — play carefully on your last questions
In Standard, if your opponent answers wrong first, you still have time to answer correctly

Bonus features

Birthday bonus: Every 20 games, if you have a Hebrew birthday set, a special bonus question pops up — get it right for a free Perkolating Wheel spin!
Leaderboard: Boys and Girls have separate leaderboards. Make sure your gender is set in your profile to appear!
Longer questions: Questions with longer answer text automatically get 15 seconds instead of 10
Avatars: Parents can choose a fun animal avatar for you — shown on the leaderboard if your photo is hidden
